Contemporary plays on social issues that raise uncomfortable questions are unlikely to ever make it to the stages of big repertory theatres. The protagonists, teenagers, go through a difficult stage of being different and unable to conform to social norms. Communication is the most important topic that is always brought up in the process of growing up.
The Territory.Kids Festival, the Russian Academic Youth Theatre, and the Road of Life Foundation have prepared a special selection of plays about the relationships between teenagers and adults.
Playwrights Marta Raitses, Maria Malukhina, and Evgenia Yusupova create a complex and realistic inner world of teenagers in their plays. The authors accurately describe the factors that shape this world and influence young people.
The text and plot of a play will help start a conversation about urgent and difficult problems. Teenagers and their parents, psychologists, teachers, well-known journalists and bloggers, employees, patrons and beneficiaries of the Road to Life Foundation are to take part in the discussion. One of the project goals is to bring social groups, which rarely interact with each other, together. They can create a platform for their constructive dialogue in the theatre space.
