ABOUT PERFORMANCE

Kirill Serebrennikov will discuss how the principles of modern ecological architecture can be re-imagined, reduced, and recycled- creating a new type of theatre. Clean Hands theatre has an ecological, hands – on approach, incorporating «human» technologies, new and old.
The director will also discuss his production «(М)artyr» right after the performance.
The play by Marius von Mayenburg about a religion in school appeares to be the exact picture of the current situation in Russia. Serebrennikov even revised his repertoire plans in the middle of the season and begun working on this production. Students will be able to ask the director questions about everything that concerns this work. How to adapt a foreign drama to our realities? What are the goals of the social Russian theatre? What does the responsibility of art mean to the audience? Can the culture take the stress that has accumulated in the society?
