ABOUT PERFORMANCE
This is a production about music and the person who creates the music. Music is a character; it plays various roles in the production: a hope, a death messenger, a comforter. Almost every possible types of solo and ensemble singing are included in the opera, from lyrical monologue to tragic improvisation, as well as also choir parts of different styles — folk, religious etc.

“Orpheus” by Claudio Monteverdi — one of the best and most complicated at once operas of the world repertoire. “Orpheus” used to appear at opera stages of various countries: Germany, Italy, Austria, France, England, Spain, the USA, and Japan. The first concert variant in our country occurred in Leningrad, in 1929. The Perm Academic Opera and Ballet Theater were the first to stage the opera of Claudio Monteverdi in a new “original” version.
