Anatoly Smeliansky is a leading Russian theater writer and critic. For many years he worked in the Moscow Art Theatre («MXAT») with Oleg Efremov. He participated in the process of this theatre’s rebirth. At this workshop he will talk about how the conception of «method acting» by Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko has changed during the XXth and XXIth century. The focus of discussion will be not only bethe Moscow Art Theatre but also the different directors that adopted the methods of early Moscow Art Theatre in their works.
