EUROPEAN MOVIE STARS' MASTER CLASSES: ANDERS BANKE (SWEDEN)
ABOUT PERFORMANCE
Björn Runge was born in 1961. Already at the age of 20 he started working with film and in 1989 he graduated from the University College of Film, Radio, Television and Theatre, Directing Fiction. Björn Runge has among other things been working close to renowed Swedish director Roy Andersson. His big break came in 1991 with the highly commended short film Greger Olsson buys a car. In 1993 he directed A Day on the Beach, which is the third episode in the relay picture 90 minutes of the 90's from the Göteborg Film Festival. This film was of great importance for the film The Volcano Man, his highly personal portrait of the author Sture Dahlström. Before that he created a stir for his film Harry and Sonja, starring Stellan Skarsgеrd, Viveka Seldahl and Regina Lund. In 2001 Björn Runge directed his first TV series, Andersson's Mistress, where Jakob Eklund and Ingvar Hirdwall starred. The series was a tremendous success, both with the critics and with the audience. The Daybreak script and direction 2003 became a huge success and won the Blue Angel, The Silver Bear for an outstanding artistic contribution to the Acting Ensemble at the Berlin Film Festival.
