Cheek by Jowl: Classical Text and the Ensemble
Description: Using as a starting point Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, Artistic Directors of Cheek by Jowl, will lead young professionals in an exploration of approaches to classical text as an ensemble, establishing some useful principles and priorities for the actors to enable them to feel less blocked in their work. This work will be based on the notions developed in Declan Donnellan’s book The Actor and the Target.
