DANCE MASTER CLASS BY ANNA ABALIKHINA

ABOUT PERFORMANCE


Anna Abalikhina will introduce participants to the basics of staging dance performances, and show them how to expand one’s visual experience, which can be useful both to performers and viewers. She will explain the idea of ‘being present in the moment’ and show various kinds of possible interactions between partners in a performance.
Anna Abalikhina is a choreographer and performer, whose interdisciplinary projects combine dance with media technology, interactive video and sound. She studied at the Moscow School of Choreography and Rotterdam Dance Academy in the Netherlands. She has worked on the biggest drama and opera stages in Moscow and across Russia as an invited choreographer. Her productions include The Sleeping Beauty and A Midsummer Night's Dream at Gogol Center, La Périchole at Bolshoi Theatre, and Illusion at Krasny Fakel (Novosibirsk). She won a Golden Mask award for her show Exhibit/Awakening at Alexandrinsky Theatre in 2015, and Innovation for the Best Project with her Martin Passions (Art-Ovrag, Vyksa) in 2019.
