EUROPEAN MOVIE STARS' MASTER CLASSES: IRENA PAVLÁSKOVÁ (CZECH REPUBLIC)
ABOUT PERFORMANCE
Irena Pavlásková was born in 1960. She graduated in filn and TV directing from Prague Theatre and Music Art Academy. A series of her films were shown at the youth cinema festivals with great success. Her career took off with the film Time of Servants, that was awarded The Best Debut at the Cannes film festival, Grand-Prix at the Montreal and Bratislava film festivals and also prizes at the filn festivals in Geneva, Moscow and Tallinn. In the mid 90s her TV version of a novel by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky was a great success. The sequel of this work, Time of Debts was the best in the Czech box-office in1998. This film was also the first production of Pavlásková's own studio Eydelle Film. This year Pavlásková's picture Bestiary was a part of Focus On World Cinema program of the Montreal film festival.
The master-class is organized by the European Commission Delegation to Russia.
