English director Declan Donnellan is well known in Russia. His productions of Boris Godunov, Twelfth Night and Three Sisters directed at the International Confederation of Theatre Associations with Russian actors have been running successfully for several seasons, as well as tour the globe. The Founder and Head Director of the Cheek by Jowl Theater, famous for his interpretations of the classics, author of several books on acting technique theory, honestly believes that it is “impossible to teach someone the craft of acting. It's possible to help an actor to get rid of what gets in the way of him playing well, and that is all. On the other hand, there are wonderful acting teachers, but they not as much bring the useful, as they help do away with the not useful”.
