Italian director Antonio Latella is well known in Russia as an author of the trilogy based on the tragedy by Euripides that he has staged at the Novosibirsk Theater ‘The Old House’.
During this workshop he will discuss one of the fundamental elements of ancient Greek theatre – the chorus. Latella says: “Chorus – is the voice of the community. Chorus – is a thought that becomes the voice, the scream of a nameless crowd face to face with a tragedy”. Latella calls these ancient texts the ‘alphabet of the theatre’. According to him they give the possibility to work on the ‘concept of infinity’- within the choir, and outside of it.
