First staged in Russia by Vsevolod Meyerhold, Wedekind's Spring Awakening by Gogol Centre will have a completely new quality played as musical show. The pure and intense feelings of teenage characters clash against the adult world, struck by indifference and hypocrisy. Getting to the final of the show will not be easy for the characters as, to understand each other, parents and children affected by the ‘generation gap’ will have to go through some real trials. Premiered on Broadway in 2006, Spring Awakening musical was a huge success getting a Tony award, and since then has been constantly performed in the U.S. and worldwide.
